ABOUT A&MANIA
Randy M. Kosht, Publisher of Mazama Books and Editor of A&M Records: The Original Discography, founded A&Mania in 1982, after collecting and compiling information on A&M Records beginning in 1966.
Kosht’s music and editorial-related projects include the previous editions of A&M Records: The Discography (published in 1986 and 1993) as well as the “Media Mumblings” and “Earwitness News” columns (1975 - 1983) in the Cobblestone and Uncle Jam newspapers published by Fragments West. As General Manager and Associate Editor at Fragments West, he had other published work including various art-related articles, cartoon features, and advertising art. He held various editorial posts at Galaxy Productions, including three years as Managing Editor, and has published cartoon collections featuring various Mazama Productions characters.
Kosht served as a consultant and onsite researcher on two A&M Records anniversary celebrations, in 1982 and 1987, and was a contributor to A&M Records: The First 25 Years. He has contributed information to Douglas Payne’s Internet discography of CTI Records (www.dougpayne.com) and the music discographies of B.J. Major (www.bjbear71.com), and is a staff member at A&M Corner (www.amcorner.com), an internet site devoted to A&M Records and its musical legacy.
